It's been a while since I've thrown a real curve-ball on the podcast, but this week I've done exactly that. Genres not usually played on Three From Leith have converged into one show – hopefully you'll enjoy it! There's also news of an interesting 'swap' coming your way this Easter. What is it? Listen and find out.

Stanley Odd – 'Think Of A Number'
Dear Martin – 'American In Me'
Wonderful Life – 'How Does It Feel' / 'Why Can't You Be More Like Your Sister?'

The soundbed was 'Robot Rock' by Federation Of The Disco Pimp
Three From Leith theme-tune by Alex Aitken

Make time for this week's podcast, as time for ourselves is something that we seem to be losing on an ever-increasing basis these days.

Flying Machines – 'On A Whim'
Matthew Glen Thompson – 'I Get Lost'
AudioAlysis – '1994' / 'Use Your Illusion'

The soundbed was 'We're Like Crystal' by Aeryal
Three From Leith theme-tune by Alex Aitken

]]>" target=_blank>Show 203 – Death of Manly Pusuits

Buzz Test 2

Listen here, though I'd love you to subscribe !

New albums, red cards and antique shaving equipment. The usual nonsense! Three From Leith blethering and wondering: “Does anyone read this part of the shownotes any more?”

Hungry Lucy – 'Wandering'
Buffalo Alice – 'Brittany My Darling' Sonic Adventure Project – 'Momentum'
Spaceship Days – 'A Little Extraordinary' / 'Stick On Stars'

The soundbed was 'Arcadia' by Celestial Souls
Three From Leith theme-tune by Alex Aitken

Buzz test

Listen here, though I'd love you to subscribe !

This week is an all-Brit affair, with some driving indie UK rock from artists who're all new to the podcast. Then, after saying that I didn't have a lot to say I spend a while blethering about old-school shaving & buying antique razors from eBay. You have been warned!

Rebel Territory – 'Falling For You'
Zalinski – 'Apology To The Feminine'
Annalisa – 'Get To You'
Rebel Territory – 'Angel In The City'

The soundbed was 'Sign Of The Chimes' by More Human Than Human
Three From Leith theme-tune by Alex Aitken

]]>" target=_blank>Show 201 – A Close Shave

Listen here, though I'd love you to subscribe !

Well, back with Show 200 for the first one recorded in 2010; what a nice coincidence! There's lots of great new music, plus two listeners' favourites of 2009. The usual blethering from me too; hey, if it ain't broke, why fix it?

Trip To Dover – 'Runaway'
Stornoway – 'Zorbing'
Sierra Maestra – 'When Lights Go Down'
Atsuki – 'In The Neon City'
The Banana Sessions – 'The Ballad of Captain Molloy'
Trip To Dover – 'Pixelated Heart'

The soundbed was 'The Rift' by King Capisce
Three From Leith theme-tune by Alex Aitken

Not just a great local podcast, a great podcast full stop. Really eclectic mix of bands from all over, complemented nicely by Grant's laid back, chilled out tones. Top fella, top show.

One of the best music podcasts. As simple as that. Grant is knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Oh, and he plays good music.

TFL is one of the podcasts I recommend to new podcast listeners.

The thing I like most about Three From Leith is the warmth of the music and chat between tracks. This is not like those repackaged podcasts of Radio 1 shows that someone compiles as a job, this is a genuine labour of love that Grant produces because of the quality of the music and the desire to give these bands a wider stage. Three From Leith is the perfect show to listen to after a hard stressful day at work when you want to relax and have your eardrums massaged. The Scotch Broth of podcasts (in the nicest possible sense).

Easily my favourite Scottish podcast, and the show I always look forward to seeing in my podcatcher. This podcast just goes from strength-to-strength, and Grant's easy, relaxed, presentation is something other podcasters can only dream of emulating. It's like catching up with a life-long friend.
