If you have submitted a broadcast to Scotcast.net your listing homepage is now optimised for search engine recognition! Put into english this means that each broadcast listing now has an 'individual' URL or internet address which the search engine picks up on. Google will read the link (and your keywords) directly to your broadcast on the site. Search engines love it.

Hallo new members! There's been a load of new broadcasters joining the directory this week. New shows listed range from alt comedy newsroom spoof NEWShaft to Channel XV - Scottish Rugby who host videocasts on their excellent new site. Also each month the number of visitors to the directory is doubling! Bringing you NEW listeners.

Planned upgrade of site (lets say ver 1.1) now complete. Registered members can now add image thumbnails of their podcasts directly into their broadcast listings. Also, a major new feature is the addition of the capability to read RSS feeds. Now when viewing a members listing, Scotcast reads the RSS feed and displays most recent broadcast details dynamically. This took a bit of time and is something we will be developing in the future. I think it's great, visitors can now see the most recent shows then visit the podcasters site directly from the list of shows.

After months in the making Scotcast.net launches as a new directory of Scottish podcasting. The service will feature a local directory of the new and exciting broadcasts beginning to be produced on the internet by music, literature, media, arts, sports and politics enthusiasts and professionals throughout the country. I have taken some time off to finish Scotcast and am pleased the site is now online. The website enables users to create their own account showing details of their podcasts which will appear automatically. Visitors / viewers to the site can locate podcasts of interest through the categorised directory. Looking forward to a great 2006!
